Hey there! Congratulations on opening this page. Even clicking on a link that says "indoor training" is a big step.
Now, if you've tried some of this indoor training stuff and you've gotten a little bored, here are some tips that might help:
1. Change something every five minutes. That can just be shifting down a gear or two and maintaining the same speed (pedalling at a higher cadence), or standing up for 30 seconds, or doing something like an pedaling with one leg, etc.. The change doesn't have to be "harder," just "different." Maybe have a second thing you do every 15 minutes. 2. Have a movie on. TV can help too, but commercial breaks punctuate the time--movies go on without anything to make you notice the time, so they can make time go faster. For me, race videos are the best--see the "Race Videos" list below. If you don't have a TV or laptop to play a movie, at least turn on the radio, or put a bike magazine on a music stand next to ya. 3. Point a fan on yourself. 4. Drink and eat. It might seem strange on a trainer, but make sure to keep drinking water and, for longer workouts, maybe even have some energy food within reach. 5. Reset your ride time. If you have to ride for an hour, it might help to think of it as 2 30-minute workouts. When your ride timer gets to 30 minutes, reset it and ride to 30 minutes again. Race Videos:
